Education

University of Alabama, Tuscaloosa, 2001, BS in Finance, minor in Economics, 3.3 GPA. University of Alabama Huntsville, 2005, Masters of Science in Management/Master of Business Administration (MBA), 3.2 GPA (while also working full time). Current Columbia Southern University Doctor of Business Administration (DBA) student, 4.0 GPA. Multiple professional certifications in many fields, including Project Management (PMP), Human Resources (SHRM-CP), Quality (LSSGB), Management (CM/CMgr).

Experience

Til recently, I tutored a young Hispanic male in reading and English, as well as in the Adult GED program at the Decatur Dream Center. In the past, I have tutored a high school age male ESL student in history, social studies, English and so forth, throughout most of grad school. Also a number of other short term assignments. I received a 28 on the ACT oh so long ago, before I was serious about an education, and on the first and only try. I did not take the SAT. I took the GMAT in 2003 and received a 85%/38 verbal score and a 35%/32 quantitative score (which is why I am not a math tutor) for a total of 580/64%. I received a 99 (I believe the highest score you can receive, at least according to the desk sergeant) on the ASVAB when I took it at the Nashville MEPS station in 2005 or 2006. I received an 85th percentile mastery in the College Level Assessment in December 2016. I am an excellent tutor/teacher. I care about the success of my students, and their ongoing success throughout life. I like to think that I can assist in that success, and remember that the right tutor can change a life (as in with the relationship between Alexander the Great and Aristotle, for example). I have taken a great many classes for college credit, and a great many more not for credit. For example, I am currently enrolled in the Doctor of Business Administration (DBA) program at Columbia Southern University. I have worked professionally in a variety of fields, most specifically civilian Army contractor, mental health professional and consumer finance. I was employed as an Adjunct Business Instructor at Virginia College in Huntsville until the college closed. I am now employed with an online college, as well as independent consulting.

Hobbies

I am well travelled. I have lived in both Australia and Bolivia, and visited many other countries. I enjoy extreme sports such as skydiving, rapelling and (one day) BASE jumping. But also more docile pursuits like hiking, swimming and so forth. I jog and/or work out almost every day. I read a lot (newspapers, magazines, online sites, novels), play video games (I rule at Halo), guitar and sing. Favorite food is sushi. I volunteer a good bit throughout the community (primarily animals and mental health) and am active in a small local church that I have attended off and on throughout my entire life.
